Your Support Transforms Lives: Focusing on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) at Our Cherish a Child Luncheon

At CACJC, our mission is to protect and heal children who have experienced abuse and neglect. This year, our Cherish a Child Luncheon is dedicated to addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), which are early traumas with profound and lasting effects on a child’s life. Your support at this event is crucial in helping us continue providing the comprehensive care these children need to overcome their challenges.

Why ACEs Matter

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are significant stressors that can profoundly affect a child’s development and long-term health. At CACJC, we witness the impact of these challenges every day. Our trauma-informed approach addresses the root causes, helping children recover and thrive.

Early intervention is crucial. Untreated ACEs can lead to severe consequences, including chronic health issues, social difficulties, and diminished economic opportunities. By tackling ACEs early, we can prevent long-term health problems, break the cycle of abuse, and contribute to a healthier, more resilient community.

The Importance of Trauma-Informed Care

At CACJC, we recognize the widespread impact of trauma, which is why we employ a trauma-informed care (TIC) framework in all our services. This approach ensures that every aspect of our care acknowledges and integrates the understanding of trauma’s pervasive effects. Here’s how TIC benefits the children we serve:

Recognizing and Responding to Trauma: Our team is trained to identify trauma symptoms and respond appropriately, ensuring that each child receives the care they need without re-traumatization.

Creating a Safe Environment: We strive to provide a safe and supportive atmosphere where children feel comfortable and secure, which is essential for their healing process.

Comprehensive Care: By integrating mental health, medical, and social services, we offer a holistic approach to healing, addressing all aspects of a child’s well-being.

Building Resilience: Our goal is not just to heal the immediate wounds but to empower children and their families to build resilience and thrive despite their past experiences.

How Your Support Makes a Difference

Your participation in the Cherish a Child Luncheon directly contributes to the vital services we offer:

Medical Evaluations and Forensic Interviews

We provide specialized, trauma-informed care to children who have experienced ACEs, ensuring they receive the necessary medical and emotional support in a safe environment.

Therapeutic Support

Our team offers both short-term and long-term therapy options, helping children and their families build resilience and move forward from trauma.

Community Awareness and Training

With your help, we can continue to educate and equip our community to recognize and respond to signs of child abuse, ultimately preventing ACEs from occurring.

Your support at this event is more than just a donation—it’s a lifeline for children in need. By attending, donating, or spreading the word, you help us continue this essential work. Together, we can ensure that every child in our community has the opportunity to heal, grow, and succeed.
